Earrings – Assorted Andile Mdakane HWM M
$43.50
Hailing from a small town of Estcourt (eMtshezi) in KwaZulu-Natal, designer, Andile Mdakane, has been drawn to ancient African symbols since reading Credo Mutwa’s `Indaba my Children’ in 2003. 11 years later, whilst on a sabbatical in a quiet tree house in Wilderness Western Cape, the idea of bringing the African symbols to life struck Andile. She developed that idea and it evolved into this range of urban African accessories.
These accessories are an interpretation of ancient African symbols called Adinkra symbols. The first of these accessories are earrings and pins. They are made of Perspex – which makes them light, even the big sizes, and African fabric – giving them a rich colourful texture.
Medium Perspex earrings.
